My friend and i took a trip to the National Botanical Gardens of Wales today for the Orchid festival and a wander round the gardens. Not the best time of the year to go really, all the flowers were dying back, which was a shame. however, there were plenty of dahlias! as you'll see from the macro's. however, the light was pathetic today

I've just been flicking back through my gallery and looking at my Wiccan photography (i'm still getting a lot of favourites for them!). at the time, i really didn't think they were anything special, but re-reading the comments people have left, i'm moved almost to tears. when i saw myself as amateurish, others saw the pictures as moving, and photographically well composed and shot.

so i want to say thankyou to my brothers and sisters for your continued support and kind words. Blessed be to you all in this the new year

i have an older journal entry with the same title.

my camera's broken! noooooooo! i should take it to the camera shop, but i'm scared they'll say it's irreparable or something... at least at the moment i can pretend that it's fine and i'm just not using it *sob*

on a much happier note, i'm an aunty again! Ellaine, my eldest sister, gave birth to her third son on saturday 19th july - Nathan Kane Owens ^^ tomorrow i'm helping her move, again. it's all on the go for poor Ellaine.

i'm still feeling at a loss after finishing uni, the feeling is yet to go away. although another feeling is encroaching on it, and that is the feeling that, although i have a degree, i am completely unqualified. i've been trying to find a job (i have to move from this flat and this town, i miss the countryside); but i'm finding that the jobs going with the hours and money i need require people with experience. so never i mind i have 2:1 degree in english, i havn't been working. so i feel a little cheated, even for things like publishing - i dont have experience. it's all very upsetting.
so instead i spend my time browsing letting-agents' websites looking for houses in kidwelly, and there's one i've fallen in love with, a three bedroom cottage with a proper cottage garden and bookshelves in the wall. tis beautiful. and very close to the castle (see gallery for pictures of said castle)

i'm feeling quite sick at the moment - never order any kind of pasta from wetherspoons, i should have learned from last time.

i had named this journal 'today is saturday', and the next line i was about to write was 'and it's _ o'clock', when i noticed..

and it's 12.01 o'clock in the morning, and i've just had a cup of tea... so there's not much hope of me going to sleep for awhile... did you know there's more caffeine in tea than coffee? apparently this is true... join us in a couple of weeks when i shall be assed to update this journal and you can learn a new fun and useless fact.

speaking of learning i want to learn another language. i'm quite embarrassed by the fact that here in Britain, most of us can only speak one language, and most of the rest of Europe are mega clever and speak more. this discounts me to a certain extent because i speak two languages - i'm welsh and proud. but i see this as cheating, as not really an achievement... i probably knew more welsh at first than english. i started to learn mandarin, i bought a phrase book - which was difficult to learn from, because mandarin relies heavily on tones. so then i (that's a lie, kenj) downloaded a podcast... but it's a very difficult language. so i thought i'd start off on something easier, and something i already have basic knowledge on, and that's french ^^

But it's April! which means next month is my last assessment period which means that i'm finishing my degree soon! eek! i am SO excited. but scared. but at the same time crazy excited. i cant wait for my graduation ceremony. i'm going to go and have my hair done in an andrew price salon - splashing out ^^

not really sure what's going on with this journal at the moment. i'm not doing much photography (to be fair, since my a-level days i've not really had the time). i do like to upload the occasional one of Tabitha though. and there'd be more if she kept still long enough. i've been working on more oil pastels though... but my confidence is lacking in that area... although i enjoy doing them i'm not sure if they're good enough... maybe i'll just put them up anyway and people out there in devi land can judge. if you have any requests along that line let me know, i'm always looking for new ways to not write my dissertation.
